INTRODUCTION

Dr Evelyn Moshokoa, founder of the Evelyn Moshokoa Foundation is organising a 3-day interactive surgical workshop, 7-9 June 2024, in Pretoria.

This will be an interactive workshop, showcasing at least 20 surgeries, which will be live streamed from 2 theatres per day from Steve Biko Academic Hospital and Midstream MediClinic and Urology Hospital, Pretoria, to the Protea Hotel Fire & Ice, Menlyn. The programme will Include live surgery, talks, case presentations and trade symposia. 

Focus of the surgeries will be:

  • Urethral strictures
  • Bulbar
  • Penile PFUD
  • Meatal stenosis
  • Urethral diverticulum
  • Fistula repair
  • Penile prosthetics
  • Both malleable and inflatable
  • Male slings
  • Male AUS (Sphincter)

The primary objective of the meeting is to teach and to learn the most effective surgical techniques, so as to ensure each procedure is executed correctly the first time, in so doing ensuring minimal occurrences of relapse and ultimately improve patient outcomes and their quality of life, which is too often very adversely affected for many years, as they are public sector patients. 

Target Audience for the meeting includes:

Essentially all doctors working and consulting on cases requiring reconstructive surgery in South Africa and the rest of Africa are encouraged to attend.
